Mrs. Zlata Press
Mrs. Press has lived her entire life in Brooklyn, New York and has attended centrist schools: Crown Heights Yeshiva, Yeshiva University High School for Girls, Teachers Institute for Women and then, Brooklyn College and New York University. She is married for over 50 years to Rabbi Dr. Melech Press, a retired psychologist and retired chairman of the Touro College Department of Psychology. Their six children are all married- eleven of the twelve children and in-law children are in chinuch, the Rabbonus, or are mental health professionals. There is never a lack for rich conversations at family gatherings. Her experience in chinuch is one centimeter wide (She has spent all her years in one school.) and a mile deep. The greatest influences on her growth in Torah observance and in chinuch, outside her closest family members have been: Rebbetzin Esther Hobeman ע"ה, teacher and principal in Prospect Park Bnos Leah, Rabbi Yoel Kramer שליט"א the founding principal of Prospect Park and her mentor in chinuch, Rebbetzin Bruria David זכרונה לברכה, Chaya Newman ע"ה, Zehava Braunstein ע"ה and her superb colleagues and friends at Prospect Park Bnos Leah for 40 plus years.
